In the present work the technique of lumbar epidural anaesthesia was studied and esta blished in buffaloes. The results show that the most reliable seat was the first in terarcual space and the most suitable dose was 8 cm of 4% or 10 cm of 3% procaine Hel peremedicated by a Rompun in a dose of 0.05 mg/kg by. The latter gives Satisfactory anaesthesia of the flank for a period of about 65 minutes and the animal remains in the standing position.
