Data presented in this study indicates that the injection of a single dose of 7.5x108 of c.ovis treated with 1 : 750000 crystal violet has a reasonable immuno-potentiating effect in sheep which enables them to show a measurable resistance to experimental inoculation with virulent sheep-pox virus. This covis induced resistance which was highest at 21 days post inoculation and dropped sharply thereafter.
