Saffan was used as a sole intravenous anaesthetic agent in camels in two doses (3 and 6 mg/kg B.Wt). It was found to have desirable features as rapid and smooth induction, uncom plicated recovery period, no harmful effects on haemogram and blood chemistry, good muscle relaxation, varying depth of general anaesthesia and steady maintenance of vital functions of the body.
